Tips for Better Product Listings
Small changes to how you describe and price a listing that make it substantially easier to sell.
Most underperforming listings are not underperforming because the product is bad. They are underperforming because a stranger cannot tell what they are buying.
Lead with the outcome
Describe what the buyer ends up able to do, not the specification of the thing you are selling. The spec supports the claim; it rarely makes it.
Be specific about the deliverable
State exactly what arrives and how. Licence duration, region, number of seats, file format, whether it is physical or downloaded. Every ambiguity you remove is a dispute you cannot have.
Price against the real alternative
Compare against what a buyer would otherwise do, not against your costs. If your fee makes you uncompetitive, that is a pricing problem, and it is better to solve it by raising the price than by hoping volume absorbs it.
Fix the first impression
Your title and first line of the description do most of the filtering. If someone cannot tell within a few seconds whether this is what they came for, they move on.
