Getting Started as a Seller

How to set up your store, publish your first listing, and get paid without surprises on your first order.

Selling on Escrow Commerce takes about ten minutes to get going. The part worth slowing down for is the first listing, because it does most of the work of convincing a stranger to buy.

Set up your store

Your seller account starts inactive. An admin reviews and activates it, which keeps the marketplace free of throwaway shops. Once active you can list products, set a payout method, and receive orders.

Write listings that sell

A listing is an argument. Three things do most of the work:

  • Say what it is, plainly. The title is not the place for cleverness.

  • Describe the deliverable precisely. Ambiguity here is the main source of disputes.

  • Price the costs in. Fees and any handling should be visible, not absorbed silently.

Your first order

For digital goods, delivery is usually automatic and immediate. For physical goods, ship with tracking and record it against the order. Either way, once the buyer confirms, or the hold window passes, your balance updates and you can withdraw.

Deliver exactly what you described. The dispute process is fair, but it is slower for everyone than simply shipping the right thing.

Getting paid

Earnings appear in your balance as orders settle, and pending earnings are shown separately while a hold is still running. You can withdraw once funds reach your available balance, to a wallet address on the network of your choice.
